Visualize where visitors click on your pages with click heatmaps
Heatmaps
Heatmaps visually show where visitors click on your page, revealing behavioral patterns that numbers alone cannot.
Requirement: Heatmaps require Advanced Tracking enabled on the website.
How it works
When advanced tracking is active, the pixel automatically records all visitor clicks along with coordinates. The heatmap accumulates this data and displays it as a heat map: hot areas (more clicks) appear red, cold areas (fewer clicks) appear blue.
Creating a Heatmap
- Go to Heatmaps in the sidebar
- Click New Heatmap
- Choose the website and enter the page URL (or use
*to capture all pages) - Set the target resolution (desktop, mobile, or both)
- Save — the heatmap starts collecting data immediately
Best practices
- Create separate heatmaps for desktop and mobile — behavior differs significantly
- Wait at least 100 visits before drawing conclusions
- Use heatmaps alongside session replays to understand click context
